Investing education · 100 % pretend money
A pretend stock market.
Real lessons.
Glaow teaches children to invest in a simulated market, with the pretend pocket money their parents entrust to them. No real money, no risk — just time growing a portfolio.
- Invested over 24 months
- 240 €
- Simulated value
- ≈ 286 €
- Gain
- +46 €+19 %
Illustrative simulation. At each time step, returns are drawn at random around the profile's trend — never guaranteed. The glowing area is the gap between what was paid in and what it became.
Throughout this page, an amount shown like this is pretend money.

Two companies, invented as a family
At sign-up, each family creates exactly two fictional companies: one “stable” and one “dynamic”. The parent picks a name and a profile — never numbers. Glaow derives the behaviour. The pair is permanent: you don't change a profile, you don't delete either one.
Mum's company
well — the one it often gets called
≈ +0.8 %/month · gentle swings (±1 %)
It rises slowly, it barely shakes. The right place to grasp steadiness and the effect of time.
Dad's company
same — it's the nickname, not a rule
≈ +1.5 %/month · strong swings (±4 %)
It aims higher but rolls far more. The right place to learn not to panic when it drops.
The child invests on their own, right away. No parental approval: the order is written to the ledger immediately, and the parent gets an email. It's a heads-up, not a green light — autonomy is part of the lesson.

Prices move once a week
You buy and sell whenever you want, right away. But the price only changes once a week: between two Fridays, selling straight back earns nothing — nothing to gain from chasing a rumour. Every Friday, Glaow draws the new prices — a market shock shared by every company of the same profile, plus a shock of its own for each one. An ETF follows the average of its profile: individual shocks cancel out, so it rolls less than a single company.
The draws are reproducible. Replaying a revaluation gives exactly the same numbers — because a market lesson shouldn't hinge on a dice roll you can't re-examine.
Five badges, in order
You unlock the highest badge whose condition — and every earlier one — is met. Never skip a rung, never step back.

One quiz a day. Never a penalty.
One question per day per child, with a tiered reward based on the score. At worst you win nothing — you never lose. The reward lands as pretend pocket money, ready to invest whenever the child decides.
Six months of regular contributions, and the child earns Investment Builder: proof, badge in hand, that consistency beats timing.

And what does the real stock market look like?
When curiosity strikes, the “Real market” screen shows the real prices of 26 big companies children know — Nintendo, Disney, Nike, Spotify, McDonald's… — and of 5 ETFs. Real prices, updated daily, purely to observe: no link to the pretend portfolio.
Twelve monthly closes, a simulated portfolio above 300 in the family currency: Wealth Master, the last rung.
where the money lives
Two accounts, two trade-offs
Everything the child invests — in mum's company, dad's, or an ETF — lives in one of two accounts, their choice: the Free account or the Vault account. Each has its own trade-off: more freedom on one side, less tax on the other.
Everything, withdrawable any time
Companies + ETFs · 30% tax on the realized gain
The upside: no constraints — withdraw or sell whenever you want, on any instrument.
The trade-off: the higher tax rate of the two accounts.
Less tax, for a year of patience
ETFs only · reduced 10% tax on the realized gain
The upside: the lowest tax rate of the two — like a real long-term tax wrapper.
The trade-off: no withdrawals for 12 months from the first deposit into this account; you can always keep depositing, just not take money out before then. ETFs only, not mum's or dad's company.
You can pay into both accounts at once. That very choice — speed versus patience — is the lesson: no account is better, only the trade-off that fits the goal of the moment.
the deal
What makes Glaow honest
- 100 % pretend money
- Nothing to win for real, nothing to lose, nothing to top up. A bank card never enters the app.
- An immutable ledger
- Every operation is final and timestamped, like real bookkeeping. No “undo” button: you learn that decisions count.
- The real fee model
- No per-order fee. A tax on realised gains, only when you sell at a profit: 30 % on the Free account, 10 % on the Vault account (ETFs only, no withdrawal in the first year). A TER of 0.5 %/yr on ETFs, baked into the price — exactly like a real ETF.
- The parent is kept informed
- An email on every investment, withdrawal or sale by the child. To follow along, not to approve.
- Your data, your choice
- Six languages. Self-service account deletion, with a 30-day grace period. Privacy policy →
